Week of May 25
Now that I've done the initial search for jobs, there aren't as many new ones coming up. However, I'm going to try to post an update at least every week to let you know that I'm still looking.
Here's a posting for an Enrollment Analyst with PHSA. This is a degree position.
CIHI still has a posting up for a Classification Specialist. The location is listed as Toronto/Ottawa but these positions are often available for telecommuting.
Nothing for Northern Health, BC Gov't, VCH, VIHA.
Fraser Health: Analyst, IT User Technology Services. This position requires a degree or diploma in Health Information Sciences or Computers and is located in Surrey.

Comox
Part-time coder (3 days/week) wanted for St. Joseph's hospital in Comox. This is a mat leave position so I think the dates are wrong - it probably ends June 2011 not 2010.

VCH
Here's a position that doesn't have very specific job requirements that someone could talk themselves into: Regional Coordinator - Vaccine Program. Its internal right now.
There are two positions for coders at Powell River Hospital - one part time and one casual.
A casual position for VGH for an HRT for QA, Drs room, etc (How's that for 5 acronyms in one sentence!)
Anyone have a nursing background as well as health information?? Here's a clinical analyst position with VCH.

PHSA, BCCDC, Federal Gov't and Fraser Health
A 1 year temp position for an Analyst for the Cancer Agency in Surrey
BCCDC has a posting for a Health Records Leader for TB Control in Vancouver
BCCDC is also looking for a Surveillance Analyst for Epidemiology in Vancouver. This one requires a Bachelor of Health Information.
Okay, this might be a bit of a stretch, but the requirements are pretty loosy goosie ... an Analyst with Canadian Security and Intelligence Service. How cool is that?!
Fraser Health is looking for several casual HRA's:
in the Family Birthing Unit
for coding at Surrey Memorial
for coding at Peace Arch
as a systems application coordinator at Langley - they do specify HRA

Testing, testing
All right all you people who don't know this blog exists, lets see if I can find a job! Well, some job postings anyway. If I can't work someone else should benefit from all this time I spend online.
VIHA has two HRA postings - one for a coodinator and one for a coder, both in Victoria. They are both internal right now.
Internal Postings
An external posting for VIHA...Project Analyst for a degree holder, also in Victoria

Northern Health needs to upgrade their coders! Here's an ad for an HRT for coding, etc, in Quesnel. The manager is a good friend of mine and she's pretty awesome! :-)
CIHI is hiring an Analyst for the DAD database. Looks like a fun job! Also a posting for a classification specialist. Those jobs are a lot of work, but also fun and CIHI has a good reputation as an employer.
Here's a posting for a Project Manager for VCH and an HRA for the Trauma Registry.
For those with more advanced computer skills there are some positions with the now amalgamated PHSA/VCH/Providence. For a Programmer Analyst / Designer , Systems Analyst / Designer, and an Enrolment Analyst. All of these require a degree in HIM and are based in Vancouver.
More later....!
